About Me

Welcome to Pressing Publish! My name’s Bryan Mullennix and I’ve been earning a living online, in one form or another, for the last 18 years. I’ve spent most of that time as a commercial stock photographer/videographer traveling, creating, and uploading content for people to use in both print and online media.

I love it, but in the last few years the photography industry has been on a downward spiral, and I realized it was time to find something else to focus my time and energy on.

Here’s what I know about me:

  • I’m a self-starter
  • I love creating content
  • I have a need to dig in and learn the nuances of everything I’m doing
  • and…I hate selling!

In 2019, I came across the world of “informational” online publishing (aka blogging) and was hooked! The idea of learning about and publishing information on subjects that interest me in a helpful, non-salesy way was really appealing to me.

The things about online publishing that I enjoy:

  • I get to research my hobbies, activities and interests while applying what I’ve learned. (I have this thing about making my hobbies pay for themselves rather than just being an expensive drain on my finances).
  • I can help other people learn more about their interests by providing them with informative and entertaining content (at no cost to them I might add).
  • and…I can monetize the whole enterprise by putting related ads and affiliate offers on my websites.

On top of all this, the online publishing world allows me to create something once, and continue to get paid for it while I work on a new project. And all of this can be done on my own timeframe. What’s not to love!

I’ve created PressingPublish.com as an extension of this ideology. In my own continuing quest to learn everything there is to know about the world of blogging and online publishing, I’ve found at times there is a serious lack of information available when it comes to the tools, techniques, and related companies I wanted to work with. My goal with Pressing Publish is to share what I’ve learned in order to make your life as a beginning or experienced publisher easier and much more profitable. After all, as the saying goes, a rising tide lifts all boats!
